Danang Sculpture Foundation have coordinated with the Danang Union of Literature and Arts Association and Fine Arts Association to hold the Danang Sculpture Camp 2010 for local sculptors. In addition, the Camp has also invited a number of professional sculptors from Hanoi, Hue, Quang Nam, including the sculptor Luu Thanh Danh, Vice Chairman of the National Sculpture Council of Vietnam’s Fine Arts Association. The Camp opened in the morning of 10 November and will last for 10 days at the workshop of Danang Sculpture Foundation.

The main purposes of the Camp is to create opportunities for local sculptors to create good quality sketches which can be selected and developed into public outdoor sculptures for the city. The camp provides an opportunity for sculptors to learn new skills and exchange knowledge and also contributes to the development of the city’s art. At the same time, through its activities, the camp may attract more attention from the public and the local government to invest in and develop the art of sculpture in Danang.
