Landscaping sculptures for the Tolga's sculpture park in Norway

The Danang Sculpture Center has developed a special relationship with the Tolga commune in Norway. After a trial trip in 2004, the construction of the Tolga Friendship Bridge in 2006, the Center continued to cooperate with Tolga commune to set up new sculptures for the Tolga’s sculpture park in 2007. After 2 months of preparations in Danang (March – April), seven carvers traveled to Tolga to set up granite sculptures of a sawmill, a blacksmith and a milkmaid Vingelen from June – August 2007.

“Much is written and even more said about granite sculptures in this spring and summer. We now can see that sculptures along the water fall in Tolga and the Buideie (milkmaid) in Vingelen are going to be finished. It’s amazing what human beings can make on stones. What am impressive work that Vietnamese carvers and Mr. Oyvin Storbaekken have done!… Enjoy the sculptures and Tolga commune must be very proud of them. Nobody else can have such beautiful things.” (Tolgaposten).
