Description

Our reproduction of the Menkuare and his Queen statue, one of the most famous ancient Egyptian sculpture, is hand sculpted from natural solid white marble. It will add elegance and life to your houses, gardens, villas, buildings, hotels or resorts.

The statue of the Pharaoh Menkaure (Mycerinus) and his Queen Khamerernebty II  in the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston, carved out of slate and dating to 2548-2530 BCE, is an example of Old Kingdom 4th Dynasty royal sculpture. The statue, which stands about 4 feet 8 inches high, was found in the pyramid of Menkaure at Giza on January 18, 1910.
In art history books, the pair have come to represent a prime example of Old Kingdom royal tomb sculpture. The statue exhibits with satisfying clarity the Egyptian adherence to a system or "canon" of proportions and, in its strictly frontal viewpoint, the rigid poses of the figures, an unwavering conformity to rules and established conventions which are interpreted both as manifesting the nature of the pharaoh's authority over his subjects and by extension as embodying the highly regulated, hierarchical structure of Ancient Egyptian society.

It is extremely important to us that each stone statue arrives whole and undamaged. We take utmost care in shipping and packing each item.

Our stone statues are packed in firm foam boxes for air shipment (small sizes, under 50kgs) and in strong seaworthy wooden crates (over 50kgs) for sea shipment to prevent damage during transportation.

For items of small sizes and under 50kgs (or 110 pounds), air shipment is the best in terms of time as well as economy.

For items of bigger sizes and over 50kgs (or 110 pounds), sea shipment is most recommended in term of cost. Port to port shipping costs are often much cheaper than trucking costs even within the same country.

If you are an international customer, please email info@danangsculpture.org, or call ++84-236-3968120, including the code number of the statue you are interested in purchasing and specific destination to receive a shipping quote.
