Our beautiful statue of the sitting Ksitigarbha Boddhisattva with one leg on a lotus is hand sculpted from natural solid white marble by our skillful carvers.
Ksitigarbha is a Bodhisattva primarily revered in East Asian Buddhism and usually depicted as a Buddhist monk. His name may be translated as "Earth Treasury", "Earth Store", "Earth Matrix", or "Earth Womb". Ksitigarbha is known for his vow to take responsibility for the instruction of all beings in the six worlds between the death of Gautama Buddha and the rise of Maitreya, as well as his vow not to achieve Buddhahood until all hells are emptied. He is therefore often regarded as the bodhisattva of hell-beings, as well as the guardian of children and patron deity of deceased children and aborted fetuses in Japanese culture.

It is extremely important to us that each stone statue arrives whole and undamaged. We take utmost care in shipping and packing each item.
Our stone statues are packed in firm foam boxes for air shipment (small sizes, under 50kgs) and in strong seaworthy wooden crates (over 50kgs) for sea shipment to prevent damage during transportation.
For items of small sizes and under 50kgs (or 110 pounds), air shipment is the best in terms of time as well as economy.
